Efraim confirms Queiroga on the ticket and discusses a vacancy in the Senate with Novo

Pre-candidate for governor of Paraíba says that Flávio Bolsonaro’s visit to the state could mark the announcement of Juliana Cunha as vice president

The pre-candidate for the government of Paraíba, the senator (PL-PB), confirmed this Wednesday (June 10, 2026) that the former Minister of Health (PL) will be a candidate for the Senate on his ticket in the 2026 elections. According to him, the 2nd vacancy is still under negotiation. One of the names mentioned is (Novo).

“Marcelo Queiroga is the candidate on my ticket, the right-wing candidate. If he retains loyalty to the right-wing camp, which in the last election represented 36% of the votes, it will become an extremely competitive candidacy”he declared.

According to the senator, the composition of the alliance is still under construction.

“There is a second wave being built in an alliance with Novo and DC”he stated.

Among the names evaluated is that of Major Fábio (Novo), a retired Military Police officer and former federal deputy.

Choice of vice

Efraim also confirmed that he had invited Juliana Cunha Lima (PL), wife of the mayor of Campina Grande, Bruno Cunha Lima (União Brasil), to join the ticket as a candidate for vice-governor.

“The invitation has already been made to her and we hope she can accept. She is pregnant, but I have already said that this does not prevent her from participating in politics”he stated.

The senator said he expected a definition this month. He also did not rule out the announcement being made during the senator’s (PL-RJ) visit to the State, scheduled for July 4th.

According to Efraim, Flávio must participate in political agendas and those in Campina Grande. The program may include events linked to the conservative agenda and a visit to Parque do Povo, where the city’s traditional June festival is held.

“We must have an event of internal unity, of militancy, a more political event during the day. A March for Jesus or some event along those lines, pro-life, pro-family and pro-freedom. And at night, forró”he declared.

“Dark Horse” case

Efraim minimized the impacts on Flávio Bolsonaro’s pre-presidential campaign. According to him, polls indicate limited loss of electoral support.

“The drop was much lower than expected. His loss was around 3 points. It is possible to recover, it is possible to return to the technical draw and arrive at the election with the expectation of victory”he stated.

According to the senator, right-wing voters received the explanations presented by Flávio positively.

“The right-wing voter absorbed the arguments that Flávio brought. His version was accepted by the right, so the loss was much smaller and residual within the spectrum”he declared.

A report by The Intercept Brasil, published on May 13, 2026, reported that Flávio Bolsonaro, at the beginning of 2025, paid US$24 million (equivalent to R$134 million at the exchange rate at the time) with Daniel Vorcaro to finance the production of the film “Dark Horse”, which portrays the trajectory of the former president (PL).
