The first lady asked this Wednesday (June 10, 2026) that Brazilians block online betting platforms known as “tigrinho”. The appeal was made in a video published on his Instagram profile. The piece warns about the impacts of digital betting on family debt.

One of the interviewees claims to have lost assets and seen her family life destroyed by addiction. Another statement reports the case of a woman who lost her sister, who took her own life due to her addiction to online games.
Janja cited data from the Central Bank when stating that the debt of Brazilian families will reach a record level in 2026. According to the first lady, women are among the groups most affected by gambling disease.
“Almost 81% of Brazilian households are in debt, according to the Central Bank. And do you know what the biggest reason for this is? Online betting, bets, tigrinho, these casinos in the palm of your hand that promise easy money and deliver debt”states no video.

The campaign claims that the “last 2 governments” authorized betting to operate in Brazil. The material also states that the president (PT) regulated the sector to expand supervision and increase corporate taxation.
