A surprise amendment of the PP expands the number of mutual members who will be able to contribute to Social Security

This Thursday, Congress experienced an unexpected twist in which it will allow mutual members—mainly lawyers, solicitors, architects and engineers—to transfer the contributions accumulated in their respective mutual societies to the Self-Employed Regime (RETA) of Social Security. This gateway, which is what the formula for converting contribution periods has been called, would give them access to a public pension, predictably higher than what they would obtain in their mutual societies (which is around 400 euros in many cases).
