The President of the United States, (Republican), said on Friday (June 12, 2026) that the US military killed Niño Guerrero, leader of the Venezuelan Tren de Aragua faction. According to him, the attack was carried out by the US Southern Command under his orders.
Trump that the action was coordinated with Venezuelan authorities. The president did not inform, in the publication, the location or time of the attack.
“Under my direction, United States Southern Command carried out a swift and lethal attack to successfully execute Niño Guerrero, the infamous leader of the Tren de Aragua.”declared on Truth Social.
The republican stated that the group no longer has a safe shelter in Venezuelan territory. He also said that the North American government will continue looking for members of the faction in other countries.
“This action was closely coordinated with our friends in Venezuela, with whom we are working very well”he stated. “The Tren de Aragua terrorists no longer have safe haven in Venezuela or anywhere else.”
Trump classified the Tren de Aragua as “foreign terrorist organization” at the beginning of his government. In the publication, he said he had deported thousands of criminals and launched an offensive against cartels.
The president also once again criticized the immigration policy of his predecessor, Joe Biden (Democrat). He associated the entry of immigrants across the border with Mexico with the increase in the activity of criminal groups in the United States.
Trump declared that Niño Guerrero’s death represents a response to the families of murdered Americans. He named Jocelyn Nungaray, 12, and Laken Riley, 22, by name, but did not provide details about the relationship between the cases and Tren de Aragua.
