The release of a third set of classified documents concerning UFO sightings has proceeded the . The new records include reports of bright, often crimson, orbs being sighted by citizens in the northeastern states of . This is the third relevant “package” of documents, following those released on May 8 and 22, as he continues the process of declassifying government reports of UFOs (or UAPs, as they are now officially called by the military as “Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena”), a practice that began in the US in the late 1970s.
This new revelation includes 72 files from the archives of the CIA and the Pentagon, which include witness statements, visual material (video) and artistic representations. Many of the listings converge on sightings of spherical objects in the same geographical area.
The February report, based on FBI interviews with two witnesses, is notable. They described a blinding light that suddenly appeared one night in their backyard (their details and exact location have been blacked out for privacy reasons).
“The red color was incredibly bright and beautiful, I had never seen such a shade in my life,” testified one of the witnesses.

According to the FBI, this red orb was about a meter in diameter, and in its center was a white “plasma sun” the size of a basketball. Witnesses also reported that there was a second orb, with the two appearing to be “attached” to each other as they moved away, while a few weeks later they noticed more white objects flying over the area at a very high altitude.
A similar occurrence was recorded in July 2025, just 25 miles from earlier known sightings, which have been recorded in the archives under the names “Triangle Orbs” and “Red Orb Rotation”. Additionally, in an October 2024 event, a luminous object hovering over a lake is described: “It looked like a sphere of plasma, changing shape and intensity, while at intervals the central light source broke up into smaller bright spots.”
“These documents, which for years remained locked behind the classification of secrecy, have constantly fueled scenarios and conspiracy theories. It’s time for the American people to see the truth with their own eyes,” said US Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth.
