For Tarcísio de Freitas, Lula’s government ‘will not be missed’

The governor of São Paulo, Tarcísio de Freitas (Republicans), said this Monday (15) that the Lula government “will not be missed”. When asked, in a forum promoted by Veja magazine, about the legacy left by the current government, Tarcísio replied that the Lula administration was marked by missed opportunities.

“It won’t be missed. I think we let the tram pass us by, and we failed to take advantage of a great opportunity. The opportunity is passing us by,” commented the governor.

According to Tarcísio, the country is letting great potential “slip through its hands”. In this sense, he cited opportunities in areas such as biomass energy and biofuels amid the oil shock.

“We have everything the world wants. The world needs a reliable partner for biofuel. Wow, we are here with our arms raised. It needs a reliable partner for food security. Wow, we are here with our hands raised. We are reliable partners for what the world needs”, stated the governor of São Paulo. “These opportunities are passing, and we are watching. We are stopping thinking about Brazil in the 21st century, because we have not resolved the impasses of the 20th century”, added Tarcísio.

He called for a “change of key” so that the country can take a leap forward. “Being great is a matter of attitude. If we want to be great, we will be great, it depends on us”, he concluded.
