Saudi Arabia and Uruguay face each other this Monday (15) in the first round of Group H of the 2026 World Cup. The match takes place at 7 pm, at the Hard Rock Stadium, in Miami, in the United States.
Saudi Arabia has gone through turmoil and arrives under the command of coach Georgios Donis, who took office less than two months before their World Cup debut. In their most recent preparatory friendlies, they recorded a 3-0 victory over Puerto Rico and a goalless draw with Senegal, but suffered three defeats in a row against Egypt, Serbia and Ecuador.
Uruguay arrives at the tournament after qualifying with fourth place in the South American Qualifiers (CONMEBOL). For the first time since the 2010 edition, Celeste will compete in a World Cup without its two greatest historical scorers, Edinson Cavani and Luis Suárez. Furthermore, Marcelo Bielsa’s team has drawn six and lost three of its last 12 qualifying games, coming up empty in attack in eight of those matches.
