Romeu Zema’s criticism of Flávio Bolsonaro, regarding the senator’s conversations with Daniel Vorcaro, could cost the Minas Gerais candidate for President.
Novo party leaders, especially from the south of the country, would be pressuring the former governor to adopt a more diplomatic stance, in the name of the “united right”. Some groups in the region still depend heavily on the vote of Bolsonaro family supporters and the alliance with the Liberals to remain competitive.
Allies of the party even suggested that Zema would be helping to re-elect President Lula (PT) and defended the idea that he abandon the race for Planalto to contest a seat in the Senate for Minas Gerais, since Novo is concerned with overcoming the barrier clause and electing a significant number of parliamentarians to Congress.
This Tuesday (25), Romeu Zema said he did not regret the criticism he made towards Flávio, stating that his words had already been made public, but he sought to reduce friction with the PL and signaled the opposition’s alliance against the PT member, stating that if he has criticisms of Flávio, he has many others towards Lula.
