It is no secret that Filip, the son of the former leader of the Freedom and Solidarity party, Richard Sulík, has close relations with members of the Smer-SD party. In the summer of 2025, he published a picture with younger politicians on a social network. At that time, he went to a well-known Bratislava company with a member of the European Parliament, the vice-chairman of the party and the chairman of the Board of Advisors of the Prime Minister of the Slovak Republic Erik Kaliňák and members of the NR SR Richard Glück.

He revealed to the website that it was not their first meeting. “I have met them before, this was not the first meeting. It was not intended to be provocative, we are talking purely about something that is not directly related to politics. But by thinking, let’s take a picture, and posting a picture on Instagram, I wanted to make a bit of a fuss. I wanted them to turn away from the progressive camp a little, to think about what it is about. I like it when people are uncomfortable“, he admitted openly.
Sulík Jr. made a living as a programmer, but as he himself admitted in the past, he would like social networks to support him. Many people might have thought that Filip would follow in his father’s footsteps and become involved in politics, but he refused for a long time. In the past, he has publicly stated several times that he is not interested in politics at all.
However, his opinion changed over time and he began to proclaim that he had political ambitions. He talked about the parties Smer-SD, Republika or Pravo na pravda. At the time of the meeting with members of the Smer-SD party, he openly admitted that would like to run in the upcoming elections. Regular parliamentary elections are to be held in Slovakia in 2027. It is therefore a matter of time whether he will fulfill his words.
The fact is that Sulík Jr. continues to meet with representatives of the Smer-SD party and it seems that they still have extremely close relations. Most recently, he showed off a photo on the social network with his fiancee Viktoria, Minister of Defense Robert Kaliňák and his wife Zuzana.
