The police are once again warning against fraudulent text messages about fines. For Tuesday (June 16) and Wednesday, several of them are registered. He informs about it on the social network. He emphasizes that neither the police nor the relevant administrative authorities send fines in this way.

The fraudulent SMS message reads: “There is an outstanding fine on your vehicle records. Immediate payment is recommended to avoid administrative action”. According to the police, it also includes a link, and after clicking on it, the victim is redirected to a fraudulent page that resembles the page of the Ministry of the Interior of the Slovak Republic.

The police emphasize that notifications about traffic offenses are delivered in official written form, usually by post or to an activated electronic mailbox. At the same time, they contain all the requirements prescribed by law, including the identification of the body, the procedure number or file mark, a description of the act and instructions on the next procedure.

It calls on citizens to be cautious, not to respond to similar messages, not to open attached links and not to provide their personal data. If they clicked on the link and entered payment card data or made a payment, he recommends notifying them of the event and contacting the bank immediately.
