The president of the (Superior Electoral Court), told foreign ambassadors this Tuesday (16) that the electronic voting system can detect and prevent even minimal malicious changes to the voting code.
He made the presentation at an event promoted by the website The Brazilian Report and the Novo Selo Comunicação agency, in Brasília.
“Any change, even if minimal, would produce a different code and would be immediately detected”, stated the president of the TSE. In the audience were representatives from countries on all continents.
The minister detailed all security steps for the election, including approval and performance tests, public digital signature ceremony and sealing of electoral systems.
The security of electronic voting machines was one of the main themes of the 2022 election, mainly because of a campaign carried out by then president Jair Bolsonaro (PL) to generate doubts about the equipment.
In this election, the tendency is for these attacks to decrease, although senator Flávio Bolsonaro (PL) has also made statements questioning the reliability of the system.
Ironically, it was because of a meeting with foreign ambassadors, in which he attacked the polls, that Bolsonaro was declared ineligible by the TSE.
