São Paulo faces a minimum of 8ºC this Thursday; see forecast

The cold should give no respite to the city of São Paulowith the minimum temperature reaching 8ºC this Thursday (18). The thermal sensation may be more pleasant, as the Sun will appear during the day.

There is no rain forecast, according to Climatempo. The temperature increases from 8 am and the maximum should reach 19ºC around 4pm this Thursday. Air quality should also remain good, but with slight discomfort.

The CGE (Climate Emergency Management Center) of the City of São Paulo reported that the lowest temperatures can be recorded in São Mateus, in the East Zone, and Barragem Parelheiros, in the South Zone, both showing 7ºC on the thermometer.

Since 11:50 am on Wednesday (17), the municipal Civil Defense has warned of low temperatures throughout the city of São Paulo.

Forecast for the next few days

The tendency is that despite the predominant Sun during the days, a Colder air mass should cause low temperatures, especially during the early morning hours.

Friday (19) should be hotter than this Thursday, with a maximum temperature of 24ºC at around 2pm. The weather only gets cold in the early hours of the morning and the The day should reach 18ºC in the state. There is also no rain forecast.

Sunday promises to be a little colder than Saturday, with temperatures varying between 12ºC and 21ºC. It is expected that there will be rain early in the morning, with decreasing clouds throughout the day.

Solidarity Shelter

Due to the low temperatures that hit the city, São Paulo City Hall provides a solidarity shelter at Pedro II Station, of Metro Line 3-Red until Friday.

The initiative began on Wednesday night (17) and has the objective of welcoming and supporting the homeless populationwhich will be exposed to intense cold during these days.

In addition to providing a place to sleep, the project provides mattresses, blankets and food.

As soon as they leave the shelter in the morning, the sheltered population will receive a voucher for breakfast at the Bom Prato restaurant, located on Rua 25 de Março, in the city center.

Between the early hours of Wednesday and Thursday (18), 34 people were treated, 29 men and five women. Furthermore, 24 people spent the night in these shelters, totaling 20 men and four women. Pets are also welcomed by the initiative.
