SÃO PAULO, 18 Jun (Reuters) – SLC Agrícola reported this Thursday that it received information about the operation to sell land from Radar, on which the company has a lease contract, and is evaluating the possible exercise of preemptive rights in the purchase of rural property.
SLC stated that it has a current lease agreement for agricultural exploration on around 17.6 thousand hectares.
‘The company clarifies that it is evaluating the commercial conditions of the offer and will respond in due course, within the applicable deadline, regarding the possible exercise of its right of preference, under the terms of the current contractual instruments’, declared SLC, one of the largest grain producers in Brazil.

The SLC statement was published after Cosan announced the day before that Radar — a company in which it is a shareholder — closed an agreement to sell 12% of its total portfolio of agricultural properties for R$1.85 billion.
The properties involved in the agreement, according to Cosan, are located in Mato Grosso and comprise a total area of 41,214 hectares, intended for the cultivation of soybeans, corn and cotton.
