A huge surprise for Pohoda visitors: Čaputová and Pavel on the same stage! What are they planning?

Czech President Petr Pavel and former President of the Slovak Republic Zuzana Čaputová will attend the 30th anniversary of the Pohoda festival. Together, they will participate in a discussion entitled “Identity at the Heart of Europe”, which will focus on the search for identity in a time of growing social polarization and a changing geopolitical environment. TASR was informed about this by PR manager of the festival Lukáš Grešš.

“The meeting of two important personalities of the Czech and Slovak public spheres will offer an insight into the issues of democratic values, civil society, European identity and the challenges that the countries of Central Europe are facing today,” Grešš explained. The discussion will take place on Saturday, July 11 in the afternoon as part of the discussion part of the program in the Europa Stage tent, which is covered by the Representation of the European Commission in Slovakia. The debate will be moderated by the editor-in-chief of the Czech weekly Respekt Erik Tabery.

Pavel has been the president of the Czech Republic since 2023. Before that, he was Chief of the General Staff of the Army of the Czech Republic and Chairman of the NATO Military Committee. Čaputová served as President of the Slovak Republic from 2019 to 2024.

The Pohoda festival will take place from July 8 to 11 at the Trenčín airport. In addition to the music program, the 30th anniversary year will also bring a number of discussions, literary events, theater, dance and visual arts.
