Datafolha: negative evaluation of the Lula administration is 38%, while positive, 32%

One Datafolha search released this Saturday (20) showed that the president’s work Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva (PT) is negatively rated by 38% of Brazilian voters. In contrast, 32% of those interviewed consider the current management positive. Already 29% classify the PT government as regular.

Compared to previous research on evaluating Lula’s work, the percentage of negative and positive classification remained unchanged. The variation occurred in terms of regular perception of PT managementwhich increased from 28% to the current 29%.

Among respondents with rfamily income of up to two minimum wagesthere was a drop in positive rating government (from 39% to 36%). Already the negative perception jumped from 28% to 31%.

The survey also showed that there is a increase in disapproval from the federal government (from 48% to 49%). Already the approval remained at 48%. In total, 3% were unable to answer.

Comparison with Lula 1 and 2

The research also tested the perception of the PT member’s current mandate with his previous stints at Palácio do Planalto, from 2003 to 2010. Of those interviewed, 5% said that the management started in 2003 was “much better”while 27% responded that Lula’s first administration was “better”.

For 25%, Lula’s current term is “worse” than the first, and 19% said it was “much worse”. Another 21% responded to remain “the same”.

Datafolha highlighted that Lula presents a lower positive evaluation than that recorded at the same stage in his two previous terms. In 2006, the PT member registered 39% and, in 2010, the favorable perception was 76%.

With the exception of former president Jair Bolsonarowhich obtained 47%, Lula’s negative assessment in this round of research is higher than that recorded, in the same period, by all former presidents since the first term of the former Chief Executive Fernando Henrique Cardosoem 1995.

From June 17th to 18th, Datafolha interviewed 2,004 people in person. The margin of error is two percentage points with a 95% confidence rate. The survey was registered with the Superior Electoral Court (TSE) on June 23 with number BR-09956/2026.
