Joker Undav shoots Germany to a hard-fought victory against Ivory Coast

Toronto – After the 7-1 opening gala against Curacao, Germany’s national soccer team had to work much harder at the World Cup on Saturday. In Toronto, the DFB team beat the Ivory Coast in Group E 2-1 (0-1) after falling behind thanks to a brace from Deniz Undav (68th, 94th) and thus secured their ticket to the round of 16 ahead of schedule. The Ivorians, who were able to dream of a surprise for a long time thanks to Franck Kessie (30th), remain in the race for the knockout phase.
