The Brazilian team held a group training activity this Monday (22), focused on the third and final game of the first phase of the World Cup. The attacker Neymarwho spent the last month treating a grade two injury to his right calf, participated without restrictions in activities for the second day in a row and is closer to debuting in the competition.
On Wednesday (24), at 7pm (Brasília time), Brazil will face Scotland, in Miami.
As usual, the press only had access to the first 15 minutes of the proceedings at Columbia Park, the New York Red Bulls training center, in New Jersey. During this time, coach Carlo Ancelotti divided the squad into two groups with 12 players, for movement activities and quick ball touch.
Neymar was joined by goalkeeper Weverton, full-back Douglas Santos, defenders Marquinhos, Danilo and Léo Pereira, midfielders Danilo Santos, Casemiro and Ederson, midfielder Lucas Paquetá and forwards Endrick and Igor Thiago. The group was separated into two teams. The number 10, wearing a vest, also had Danilo Santos, Endrick, Douglas Santos, Marquinhos and Casemiro.
Alisson spared
The training featured 24 players. The attacker was not on the field Raphinha, who suffered an injury to the hamstring of his right thigh in the 3-0 victory over Haiti, last Friday (19), in Philadelphia, and goalkeeper Alisson. According to the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), the defender was spared for “load control”.
Not Sunday (21st), Alisson was one of the only starters from the last game to participate in the activity on the pitch. The others were Lucas Paquetá and striker Vinícius Júnior.
The last training session before the match against Scotland will be this Tuesday (23), at 10:30 am. Then, the Brazilian delegation travels from New Jersey to Miami. The forecast is that Ancelotti and one other player will meet the press at a press conference starting at 8:15 pm, already on the stage of Wednesday’s game.
