“Unfixable” security flaw in older iPhones caused by errors in Apple chips


Dealing with security gaps is an integral part of software development. The manufacturers of larger projects regularly release corrective updates. As long as these arrive on time, this isn’t a particular problem. Things become more unpleasant when the error lies dormant in the hardware or associated software components that cannot be changed. Apple is now affected by exactly such a bug.
