Do you have a recipe at home without which you cannot imagine family celebrations, Christmas or Sunday lunches? Grandma’s pie, mom’s holiday broth, secret sauce or dessert that has been prepared in your family for several generations? We are looking for such culinary treasures in the new competition of the magazine Receptář and the fair Zahrada Čech.
Join the contest Family silver on plate and show others a recipe that holds a special place in your family. It’s not just about the food itself. We are also interested in the story associated with it. Who brought the recipe to the family? On what occasions do you prepare it? What atmosphere can this food create? And why should it be preserved for future generations?
How to get involved?
Prepare your family recipe, take a photo of the finished dish and attach a short story. Then send everything to e-mail:

FAMILY SILVER
Voting will take place from 1 to 31 July 2026.
Readers and an expert jury will decide on the winners
From the submitted contributions, we will select the most interesting recipes to publish on the website. Our readers will then vote on them during the summer.
The most successful recipes will advance to the final, where they will be judged by an expert jury. She will evaluate not only the recipe itself, but also its story, originality and the family tradition it represents.
We play for attractive prizes
The authors of the best recipes will receive an annual subscription to Receptář magazine, vouchers for the purchase of kitchen equipment, material prizes from the competition’s partners, as well as the publication of the winning recipes in the September edition of Receptář magazine.
In addition, we will present selected recipes to the visitors of the Czech Garden fair in Litoměřice.
Every family has its treasure
Sometimes a single yellowed recipe card hidden in a cookbook is enough to bring back memories of childhood, family celebrations or moments spent with loved ones. It is recipes like these that deserve to be preserved and passed on.
Help us discover family treasures that shouldn’t end up in forgotten drawers. We look forward to your stories and recipes
