The pre-candidate for the Presidency of the Republic (PL-RJ) called, this Sunday (June 28, 2026), the president (PT) by “anti-Semitic” and promised to bring Brazil and Israel closer together if elected.
The statements were made in Buenos Aires, during the opening of the Latin America Chairmen’s Conference, promoted by the IFA (Israel Allies Foundation), in partnership with AFOIA (American Friends of the Isaac Accords). Flávio is expected to meet with the president of Argentina, Javier Milei, on Monday (June 29).
When dealing with Brazilian foreign policy, Flávio stated that the in practice, the diplomatic relationship with Israel and criticized the president’s statements about the war in the Gaza Strip. “Lula is anti-Semitic, I say it with conviction”he stated.
The senator also criticized the fact that Brazil has been without an ambassador in Israel since 2024 and promised to change the conduct of foreign policy if he arrives at the Planalto Palace.

LATIN “BLUE WAVE”
In his speech, Flávio stated that there is a political change underway in the Americas and said that Brazil will be “the missing piece” to consolidate a “blue wave” on the continent. According to him, governments linked to the São Paulo Forum promised prosperity, but delivered inflation, poverty, business closures and an increase in crime.
The expression refers to the so-called “Blue Wave”, a movement towards the advancement of right-wing governments in Latin America that followed the “Pink Wave”, marked by the rise of left-wing parties from the end of the 1990s.

The senator also dedicated part of his speech to combating organized crime. He defended greater integration between countries in the region to confront criminal factions.
