Kinshasa – The number of confirmed Ebola cases in the Democratic Republic of Congo has risen to 1,307. The government announced late on Monday evening that this included 377 deaths. The cases occurred in the three eastern provinces of Ituri, North Kivu and South Kivu. To prevent the disease from spreading further, the government has banned public gatherings in four provinces – including the capital Kinshasa, where no cases have been recorded so far.
