The 2024 edition of the Arnold Sports Festival South America featured four professional bodybuilding categories: Open, Classic Physique, Wellness and Wheelchair. This year, however, only professional athletes competing for Open and Wheelchair divisions will be able to perform on the most important stage in South America.
CEO of MuscleContest, organizer of the tournament, Tamer El Guindy argues that no division was taken from the event. In fact, the categories in question were added exclusively in 2024 because of the festival’s special 10th anniversary edition.
“In celebration, we add these two categories. Usually, thinking strategically, it is not good that there are all the divisions in just one professional competition. We have 103 events in Brazil and we want to distribute these championships. In this way, we give fans from all over the country to watch these shows,” explains the prosecutor and businessman.
That is, the IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding & Fitness) calendar will have no less shows for Classic Physique and Wellness athletes in Brazil. In fact, these championships will only return to their “event of origin” this season.
The amateur circuit of Arnold Classic Brasil, which starts on Friday morning (4) in Sao Paulo, will be entitled to Bikini, Bodybuilding, Classic Physique, Figure, Fit Model, Men’s Physique, Wellness, Wheelchair and Women’s Physique.
