Deputy Paulo Magalhães (PSD-BA), rapporteur of representation against Glauber Braga (-RJ), voted on Wednesday (2) for the revocation of the parliamentarian in the Ethics Council of the Chamber of Deputies.
He said he understood that there was a militant of (Free Brazil Movement) at the House in April last year.
The vote was interrupted by a request for view of Deputy Chico Alencar (PSOL-RJ), ally of Glauber. The report must be voted on in the next session and, if approved, goes to the plenary of the House, which will decide on any mandate cancellation.
The Ethics Council session was accompanied by supporters of the PSOL deputy, who carried stickers and banners with the inscription “Glauber is”.
“I used all the tools that were at my disposal in this process to show what MBL is, who is [o ex-presidente da Câmara] Arthur Lira and denounce the secret budget. I’m prepared for whatever comes, “said deputy Psolist at X, former Twitter.
Last year Glauber gave up witnesses in the council process. At the time, he justified his decisions by saying that the situation has crossed the limits. He said he was thrilled with the parliamentary colleague’s hearing (PSOL-SP) to the Council.
“If I was deeply thrilled with her on the Ethics Council today, I didn’t want to be disappointing Mrs Luiza Erundina right now. But everything has a limit. And this process that drags on all this time for me was enough,” he said.
Braga is tried by Gabriel Costenaro and exchanging pushes with Federal Deputy Kim Kataguiri (União Brasil-SP) in April last year.
At the time, the psolist kicked Costenaro and expelled him from the premises of the House. The two continued arguing in the parking lot of Annex 2 of the House and, after being separated, were taken to give testimony in the Department of Legislative Police of the House.
At this point, Braga and Kim Kataguiri also argued. The PSOL deputy called his colleague “Nazi defender”, and the deputy of União Brasil raised his finger against him. Following, the two exchanged pushes.
In his vote, Magalhães pointed out that “the conduct practiced by Deputy Glauber Braga would not be covered by self-defense, since the Penal Code establishes that it is understood in legitimate defense who, moderately using the necessary means, repels unfair aggression.”
“Gabriel Costenaro’s history of previous provocations against the represented [Glauber Braga] And his party companions would not authorize physical violence, “he said.
In his defense, Braga stated that the report asking for his cancellation was commissioned by former mayor, Deputy Arthur Lira (PP-AL).
“The rapporteur, in his despair of pleasing who actually wrote the report, nor disguised. Who wrote his report was Mr. Arthur Lira. This process from the beginning tried to shield the former president of the House and with a previously filled report,” he said.
