With the air of a party convention, the government event () this Thursday (3), was marked by technical problems, recycling ads and doubts between participants regarding the reasons for their realization.
Videos with testimonials from beneficiaries of government programs and advertising pieces were shown in three major big screens at a convention center in Brasilia. The intention was to subsidize militants and members of different levels of the government to defend the president.
But with audio failures and editing, the videos were interrupted abruptly, taking the expected impact on the audience. In the assessment of the president’s allies, the problem was not only of clothing, but also of content.
The launch of the motto “Brazil turning around”, (Presidential Communication Secretariat), had already been discussed and announced during a minister meeting with Esplanada’s communication advisors in March.
Since then, there has been an expectation for the launch to bring not only the balance of government actions, but also management news from now on, due to the size of the ceremony. The event, however, had an election campaign tone – even under repeated Sidonian statements that the goal was simply to be accountable to the population.
Inserted at an important moment due to Lula’s fall of popularity and approaching 2026 presidential elections, the event featured two masters of ceremony, discourses of beneficiaries of government programs and institutional videos.
In addition to the technical problems, one of the main fragile points was the content of the presentation, which recycled ads already made by management, besides giving public.
Quaest 37% survey in January to 41% now also states that it became, by 2025, the biggest concern of Brazilians. According to the most recent survey, 29% of respondents consider public safety the main problem of the country.
Nevertheless, only two guidelines from the Ministry of Justice, responsible for the area, were cited at the event: the President Cellular Program, in the president’s speech, and the information that the country reached the lowest homicide rate in 10 years, the only report in the area included in the booklet delivered to the guests at the event. Brands related to the fall of homicides have already been used by previous management.
The Secom Minister was questioned by journalists after the event about the electoral tone of the action, as he said he considered it to be “a wrong reading” and repeated that the focus of the event was not that.
According to government participants and members heard by the Sheetthe motivation of the event was not clear, and was even taxed on “preaching to convert”, by the nature of the announcements and the participants involved: members of the government and supporters.
Invitations were sent to government servers via form, as well as PT members and militants.
The event also drew attention for its size to a result balance ceremony. Held at the Ulysses Guimarães Convention Center in Brasilia, she was made at the Espaço Master Auditorium, practically crowding an environment with a capacity of 2,229 people in the lower chairs.
Another point was the date chosen for the event, a Thursday, the day many parliamentarians are no longer in Brasilia, as they return to their origin states.
Sought, Secom said that the purpose of the event was to present the balance of deliveries of the two years of government and to announce my house, my middle class life, in addition to the anticipation of the 13th for retirees and that the time and date of the event were chosen “precisely to allow the participation of parliamentarians”.
Regarding the technical problems, Planalto stated that there was no damage to the event.
The amount invested in the event was not informed. Upon being questioned by journalists, Sidonio said he did not know and suggested that the data be requested via LAI (Access to Information Law).
“I think the cost, even, is far short of various activities, I don’t know exactly that. But this will not have any problems with LAI, which can inform you well,” he said.
From Wednesday (2) to Thursday, outdoors were placed in the buildings of the Esplanade of Ministries with the information of the actions taken and relaunched at the event.
