The international environment has been marked by greater political, social and military tension since the end of the Cold War. In Europe, in particular, war is no longer a ghost to come true since Russia has invaded Ukraine. It is with this framing that we visited a force of 170 Portuguese military personnel placed in Lithuania, next to the border with Russia. It is the largest Portuguese contingent ever committed to a mission of this kind.
