President argues that following the principle of due process would compromise mass deportation plans
United States President Donald Trump (Republican Party) said on Sunday (4.MAI.2025) that he does not know if all people in US territory are entitled to due process of law, despite the constitutional guarantee of this right. The statement was made during an interview with the program “Meet the Press” and NBC News.
During the interview, the president was asked if he agreed with the position of the Secretary of State Marco Rubio, who said that both citizens and non -citizens in the US are entitled to due process of law according to the Constitution. Trump said he couldn’t say.
The Republican argued that following this constitutional principle would compromise its mass deportation plans. “If we follow this, then we would have to have 3 million judgments”, stated.
In the same interview, Trump rejected rumors about a possible candidacy for one at the White House. He ruled out the possibility, which would be unconstitutional in the United States.
