According to the businessman, by 12pm the family had sailed about 7 minutes ago when he heard a 1st explosion from the speedboat. Realizing the risk, everyone started preparing to leave the vessel. Shortly thereafter, a 2nd explosion happened, but they managed to jump before the speedboat was completely taken by the flames.
A boat passing by the site provided first aid and the Municipal Civil Guard arrived later. The Fire Department and the Navy participated in the rescue operation.
According to a Navy representative, the vessel had the documentation up to date. The boat owner told the businessman that he reviewed the speedboat a week earlier. The causes of the explosion will be investigated.
