Iran has a new ballistic missile between US and Israel threats

Iran revealed on Sunday a new long -range ballistic missile, the Qas Basir, capable of reaching targets at 1,200 km and circumventing US and Israel defense systems at a time of strong tension.

Iran presented this Sunday a new ballistic missile with a range of 1,200 kilometers, at a time when it is the target of American and Israelites threats for supporting the Shiite Huthis rebels of Yémen.

“The new solid fuel missile, called Qasamm Basir, with a range of 1,200 kilometers, is able to penetrate different air defense systems, such as Thaad and Patriot (United States) and those of the Israeli regime,” said Iranian Defense Minister Aziz Nasirzadeh, in an interview with state television widespread at night.

The television channel showed images of a ballistic missile launch test, held on 17 April, indicating that “it has accurately hit the target,” says Spanish news agency Efe.

The missile was revealed after United States Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth had a direct threat against Iran last Thursday for his alleged support to the Huthis of Yémen following the slaughter of an American F-18 fighter.

“They will pay the consequences at the moment and where we choose,” Hegseth threatened.

Also US President Donald Trump threatened with military action against Iranian nuclear facilities if an agreement was not reached in the negotiations of the Tehran nuclear program, whose fourth round was scheduled for Saturday but was suspended. In reaction to these threats, the Iranian Defense Minister left a warning.

“If they attack us or impose a war, we will respond with strength,” he said, adding that Iran will attack “US interests and bases” without hesitation or establishing “any limits on this.”

The US threats were also repeated today by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, after a hypersonic ballistic missile of the Huthis hit the Ben Gurion International Airport area in Telavive, injuring six people.
