Serbia: Aleksandar Vucic's health - was admitted to the hospital after sickness

The state of the health of the President of Serbia, is “stable and satisfactory”, was announced by the cardiology department of the Belgrade (VMA) Military Hospital (VMA).

Its president was admitted to the hospital today, Saturday, at noon, shortly after his arrival from the US where he went to participate in Republican Party events in Florida. According to Serbian media reports, Alexander Vucic felt sick yesterday, interrupted a visit to the US and has been rushed to Serbia.

The head of the Cardiology at Military Hospital, Professor Dragan Dincic, said at a press conference that the president felt strong chest pain and had high blood pressure. He received the necessary treatment from US doctors and despite their recommendations to continue in the US treatment he decided to travel to Serbia.

“The president will be discharged from VMA today but it is certainly not realistic to expect that he will be able to return to his normal activities in the coming days,” Dr. Dintsic at the press conference.

It is noted that the Serbian president had planned to go to Moscow on May 9 to attend the military parade for the 80th anniversary of the end of World War II to be held in the Red Square. Vucic was strongly criticized by the EU leadership for his intention to accept the invitation of Vladimir Putin and to go to Moscow.

However, until before his trip to the US he said he would not “defend the promise” he made to Putin and will attend the events for the end of World War II.
