If it actually existed, the obsidian sword of the Aztecs was one of the more unpleasant weapons for the opponent at the time. The man -sized sword called Macuahuitl allegedly had blades from Obsidian on both sides with a resin. There was space between the sharp -edged stones so that the wounds were all the bigger and deeper.
