Representative asks for suspension of the case as a chamber analyzes appeal similar to the branch; Most of the board has already voted to condemn the congressman
The Minister of (Supreme Federal Court) Alexandre de Moraes denied on Monday (12.MAI.2025) the request for the defense of the Federal Deputy (PL-SP) to interrupt the trial against the congressman while the House analyzes a request of the PL (Liberal Party) to suspend the progress of the criminal action.
The lawyers argued that the deputy was entitled to suspension, since the crimes of which he is accused were committed during his term. Zambelli has occupied a chair in the House since 2019. He was reelected in 2022. The type of appeal is the same presented by the deputy (PL-RJ), defendant in court for attempted coup, and that (PL).
The 1st class of the Supreme Court judges themselves to condemn the deputy and the hacker of the “leak jet” Walter Delgatti Neto for the crimes of invasion of the computer system and ideological falsehood. They would have invaded the system of (National Council of Justice) to issue an arrest warrant from Moraes, authored by the minister himself.
According to Moraes, the process could only be suspended if crimes had been committed during the ongoing term. The trial against Zambelli takes place in the virtual plenary of the court. The ministers has already voted to condemn her to 10 years in prison and Delgatti to 8 years. The board is also in favor of the loss of the congressman’s mandate and the declaration of ineligibility for 8 years, as determined by the Clean Record Law. Also to vote for Minister Luiz Fux, who can deposit his vote by 11:59 pm on Friday (16.MAI).
Appeal
Zambelli’s lawyers alleged on Monday (12.MAI) that the PL filed the appeal on April 29 and that the house would have to make a decision until June 13.

In the case of the carioca deputy, however, the 1st Panel of the Court decided to limit the decision of the house. He will no longer answer for the crimes committed after his diploma and the suspension will be valid only to the congressman and not to the other defendants in the process, including Bolsonaro.
