At the meeting, they also spoke about current efforts aimed at achieving a fair and permanent peace between Russia and Ukraine.
A format called the Weimar Triangle brings together Poland, Germany and France, while Weimar+ is extended to other large European states, recalls PAP. In Istanbul, direct negotiations between the Ukrainian and Russian delegation should start on Thursday afternoon. This will be the first direct meeting of the opposing parties since March 2022. Their implementation was proposed last Sunday by Russian President Vladimir Putin.
