BRASILIA-The Ministry of Agriculture reported on Monday night (19) that three of the seven cases of Avian flu under analysis in Brazil gave negative. Four are still under investigation. Minister Carlos Favaro detailed the numbers at a news conference in Brasilia on the subject.
The analyzed cases that gave negative are from Nova Brasilândia (MT), Graccho Cardoso (SE) and Triunfo (RS). The four cases under investigation, still without results, are from Ipumirim (SC), Aguiarnópolis (TO), Salitre (CE) and Estância Velha (RS).
Favaro said he seeks to be transparent on the subject to restore commercial flow as soon as possible.
According to the ministry, 19 countries and the European Union closed the market for Brazilian birds. Among them, important markets for Brazil, such as China and Argentina, have suspended imports.
The minister reported that after 28 days of the disinfection of Marco Zero of the focus site, scheduled for next Wednesday, the country declares himself free from the avian flu.
