The court liberated Sebastian Kurz from the accusation of a crooked testimony. The Exkancela claims that he had never intended to provide false evidence.
On Monday, the Court of Appeal in Vienna deprived the former Austrian office of Sebastiana accused of crooked notice before the parliamentary investigation committee, for which he was given an eight -month conditional sentence last year in his original judgment. The verdict concerns the course testimony in the parliamentary investigation of the corruption case of Ibizagate from the time of his first government, which fell in 2019. The Excacellar was accused of providing false evidence of his role in the establishment of the State Holding Company Österreichische Betiligungs AG (Öbag).
Complaints against the process
In February 2024, the Vienna Regional Court was guilty. The politician denied the guilt and claimed that he was interrupted during his testimony and that the judge was biased in the original process. He said he had never intended to provide false testimony.
Kurza (38), which was popular as the office and leader of the Austrian People’s Party (ÖVP), in a separate case still investigate for charges of corruption. According to the prosecutor’s office, he is suspected of the embezzlement of public finances to pay favorable media news and distorted surveys.
