Maresca stated that the achievement was “amazing” for players, especially for skepticism around the club. According to Maresca, the team built the victory in the first minutes of the final. “We were very well, and unfortunately the heat prevented us from keeping the pace for 90 minutes,” he said. Palmer, who scored two goals and assisted, praised the coach’s work. “It’s a young team he’s building. We take the right direction,” he said.
