TST builds VIP room at airport for R $ 1.5 million – 08/08/2025 – Power

The (Superior Labor Court) will spend more than R $ 1.5 million in two years to build and maintain a VIP room at the exclusive airport for its 27 ministers, with personal follow -up by airport employees and a private car to travel to the plane.

The goal, says the court, is to safeguard the safety of ministers and to avoid “approaching inconvenient people.”

“The way the authorities were carried out and air landing provided the approach of malicious or inconvenient individuals, which significantly increased the preventable risks to these authorities,” the TST justified in a statement.

According to the contract, the space will be “intended, solely and exclusively, to support in the boarding processes of the authorities of the Superior Labor Court” at the airport. The deal is valid for two years until April 2027, but can be renewed.

The values do not include furniture, food expenses and the employees they will serve on site. The court did not report the amounts to the report, only said that “primarily furniture” of the TST and employees of existing contracts will be used.

The space was rented for R $ 30 thousand monthly, plus R $ 2,639.70 with apportionment of the airport expenses, according to the contract. The site will have 44 square meters, granite floor and plaster walls, with pantry and exclusive bathrooms. The work is underway, with expected to be completed by mid -August, at the cost of R $ 85 thousand.

To build the structure that will serve the ministers, the TST hired, without bidding, the same company that made the three VIP rooms for the private public of Brasilia airport. The contract explicitly prevents this company provides information about the work. The Court claimed that the waiver of bidding occurred by the amount authorized by law, and that it consulted three companies.

The TST’s exclusive room will be next to one of these VIP rooms on the upstairs of the airport. These spaces are accessed by customers with specific credit cards or paying a fee of $ 250 per person. They are larger places, with more comfortable armchairs, television, food and drink.

In addition to the exclusive VIP room, the court hired some perks to the ministers, such as accompaniment by an airport employee – the cost of R $ 284 for service – and exclusive transportation service. The contract stipulates a minimum of 50 calls per month. The benefit will be valid even for personal flights, without professional purpose.

According to the contract, the ministers will be entitled to a private car, so they do not have to share with the other passengers the buses that make the transfer when the aircraft is not on the bridge. They can also be taken directly to the plane without taking the boarding line. The cost is $ 144 per travel, paid with public money.

The TST said in a statement that “the project follows the same molds as E”, which have exclusive rooms for ministers at Brasilia Airport with the argument of ensuring security. “This concern is due to the current logistics of the Brasilia Airport Terminal, which enables risk to the safety of ministers, especially by possible third party approach, and their minimization is convenient,” he said.

The Court is a maximum body of labor justice in Brazil, responsible for judging appeals on labor issues and standardizing jurisprudence. The headquarters of the institution is in Brasilia.

Inframérica, a concessionaire that manages Brasilia airport, refused to provide information to the report and replied that he does not comment on commercial contracts.

The Supreme Court (STF) was the first to adopt a VIP room for the members of the Court in 2017, with the argument that the ministers became public figures because of the trials of Operation Lava Jato and it was necessary to safeguard protection. Their space is far from the other passengers, and they access the planes directly, without passing through the gate.

The new benefit of TST ministers, who have received income above the constitutional ceiling of the civil service, of R $ 46,400. In December, they earned, on average, R $ 357 thousand nets, already discounted the income tax and social security charges, according to data from the (National Council of Justice). The biggest payment reached R $ 419 thousand at once that month.
