Many world and domestic artists will play on nine stages. The main stars are the French electronic couple Justice, the Australian Elkropopo band Empire of the Sun, the British Indie-rock band The Kooks, American Two Feet and Caribou from Canada. The domestic performers will perform groups Para, Billy Barman, Fallgrapp, Bad Karma Boy and Medial Banana. The special concert prepared for the 35th anniversary of its foundation will be played by the band Hex.
The theme of the 14th year of the Music Festival is Sport. Visitors of the two -day event thus await not only a music but also an authentic sports experience to inspire them to move. The surprise will be waiting for fans of the festival at the entrance. “Every year we have some entrance gate at the festival, this year our architects have taken it a little differently. There will be a stadium at the place where the gate was”Says Ján Trstenský, a full -fledged sports zone, where visitors will find Beach volleyball courts, streetball field and American football and flag football.
The festival stadium with a playing area and a capacity of more than 600 seats will be the main point of sports. At the right noon there will also be an opening ceremony of the festival, a symbolic ignition of the Olympic fire. The stadium will also be the venue of tournaments in floorball, discharged or football. “This year we want to force people at the Grape festival to start sports a little,” says Juraj Podmanický.
The festival team started cooperation with the Slovak Olympic and Sports Committee at the current year. This year’s Grape will welcome a strong set of sports personalities in addition to music stars. Among them are the Olympic Winners – Athlete Matej Tóth and shooter Zuzana Rehák Štefečeková, Olympic shooting medalist Danka Hrbeková, triathlete Richard Varga, snowboarder Baša Števulová and Klaudia Medlová or hockey players Martin Fehérváry, Adam Sýkora and Dominik Graňák and Cyclists. Sports stars will be part of discussions about their successful careers, but some athletes will also participate in competitions with festival visitors. According to the organizers, they are waiting for the festival area, for example, and find the competition for your Olympian. A novelty of the festival with this year’s sports theme is also fashion shows associated with artists and dancers.
