Jim Lobel, the NASA astronaut who led the famous Apollo 13 mission, died at the age of 97, NASA said today.
Lobel was the ruler of the manned mission, whose aim was to be affected. The mission was orbited around the Moon, but almost ended up in a disaster in 1970 after an explosion in flight, but returned safely to Earth.
“NASA expresses its condolences to the family of Governor Jim Lovel, whose life and work have inspired millions of people over the decades,” the Space Service said in a statement, welcoming the “unmistakable character” to his “unknown” character.
