The (Federal Supreme Court) summoned on Monday (25) the (Attorney General’s Office) to speak up of those of the former president (PL) about.
The deadline ends on the morning of Wednesday (27). The records were sent by the Judicial Secretariat of the Supreme.
The Attorney General should comment on the revelations made by the Federal Police that Bolsonaro had on his cell phone, since February 2024, a draft request for political asylum for the president of Argentina, Javier Milei.
Because of old Bolsonaro messages and more recent dialogues with his son Eduardo, Moraes says that there were “repeated non -compliance with the precautionary measures imposed, the reiteration of illicit conduct and the existence of proven risk of escape.”
The PGR may be positioned by maintaining Bolsonaro in house arrest or the hardening of the measure, with the request for custody of the former president.
Bolsonaro’s defense told the Supreme Court that the draft of an asylum request cannot be considered an attempted escape from Brazil or breach of precautionary measures. The document, according to lawyer Celso Vilardi, is not a “contemporary fact” and because there was no escape.
“It seems clear that a draft asylum request to the Argentine president, dating from February 2024, cannot be considered an evidence of escape,” he says.
“Fact is that, with or without the draft, the former president did not escape. On the contrary, he obeyed all the decisions” of the Supreme, “even that prohibited him from traveling abroad, responded to the complaint offered, attended all hearings, always respecting all orders” of the STF, complete.
At the same demonstration, the former president’s defense said the report released by the Federal Police last week causes astonishment and aims to demoralize Bolsonaro by exposing private dialogues.
“But the goal, let’s face it, was achieved: headlines in Brazil and abroad announcing that the former president planned an escape. Nothing more false, but nothing more impactful, especially there is just over 10 days of the trial,” says the former president’s demonstration.
