Brain stimulation is expected to improve walking in incomplete paraplegia

In the case of incomplete spinal cord syndrome after an accident or a spinal cord disease, the nerve pathways between the brain and spinal cord are partially damaged. This leads to paralysis, loss of sensation and problems with other body functions – such as bladder function. Symptoms may improve over time as the brain adapts. However, it was not yet known which brain structures were involved.
