A 7.1 magnitude earthquake hit the east coast of the Russian region of Kamchatka on Saturday (13), the German Geoscience Research Center (GFZ) said.
The earthquake occurred to a 10 km depthsaid to GFZ.
The United States Geological Service (USGs) estimated the magnitude by 7.4, with a depth of 39.5 km (24.5 miles).
Pacific’s tsunami warning system reported that there was a threat of a possible tsunami due to the earthquake.
In Japan, southwest of the Kamchatka Peninsula, no tsunami warning was issued, NHK reported, citing the Japan Meteorological Agency.
