Political scientist Rafael Cortez said during the WWthat current political dilemmas in the National Congress should extend until 2026, with no prospects for major changes in the legislative environment. According to him, several factors have crashed the progress of important guidelines, from social programs to tax and public security issues.
According to Cortez, there are two main dilemmas that affect the voting of the subjects under discussion. The first is related to the level of cooperation that the opposition will be willing to offer in projects that may favor any reelection, especially considering that the allied base is increasingly divided.
The second dilemma involves tax issues, particularly in the income tax project, where they persist and their distribution. These discussions have generated significant tensions between different political groups.
Institutional tensions
The situation becomes even more complex with the addition of institutional tensions ,. Cortez notes that there is a significant impasse on this theme, since the full version of the amnesty appears to have no viability with the Supreme Court (STF), while a more moderate version finds no support between sectors of the right.
The political scientist points out that, so far, the leaders of the House and Senate have not shown the willingness to put these issues aside, which contributes to the maintenance of the impasse scenario in the legislature.
