Israel “categorically rejects” this “biased and liar report and calls for the immediate dissolution” of the Commission
An independent UN investigation committee today accused Israel of committing genocide in the Gaza Strip since the beginning of the war on October 7, 2023, with the “intention to destroy” the Palestinians.
“We have come to the conclusion that a genocide takes place in Gaza and will continue to happen, and responsibility is up to the State of Israel,” said this committee’s chairman Navi Pillay, today presenting the UN Commission’s investigation report on crimes committed in the occupied Palestinian territories.
Israel “categorically rejects” this “biased and liar report and calls for the commission’s immediate dissolution”, the Ministry of Foreign Ministry said today.
The highest Israeli leaders “orchestrated a genocidal campaign,” added 83 -year -old Navi Pililary, the former United Nations Human Rights Commissioner.
The commission “concluded that Israeli President Isaac Herzog, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant urged genocide and that Israeli authorities have not taken any measure against these people to punish this incitement.”
Investigations, whose starting point are the attacks of the Palestinian Islamite group Hamas against Israel on October 7, 2023, demonstrated that the authorities and Israelite security forces committed “four of the five genocidal acts” defined by the 1948 convention for the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide.
These crimes are, namely, “killing members of a group; causing serious physical or mental damage to members of a group; deliberately imposing the calculated living conditions to cause their physical, total or partial destruction; and measures designed to prevent birth within a group.”
“The international community cannot remain silent before the genocidal campaign launched by Israel against the Palestinian people in Gaza. When clear signs and evidence of genocide, the omission in acting to prevent it to prevent complicity arise,” according to the committee.
The commission is not a legal body, but its reports may increase diplomatic pressure and serve to gather evidence to be used by the courts. The commission has a cooperation agreement with the International Criminal Court (ICC), with which “thousands of information” is shared, according to the chairman of the UN committee.
The Military Retail campaign in Palestinian territory has made almost 65,000 dead, according to Gaza Ministry of Health, controlled by Hamas, which the UN considers reliable. At least 41 residents of Gaza died between Monday night and today due to Israeli bombing in the Gaza Strip, in one of the deadliest nights since Israel launched its earthly operation in the city of Gaza.
The Israeli army today launched a large -scale offensive to try to capture the city of Gaza, located in the north of the Gaza Strip, after weeks of intense bombing and withdrawal orders to expel the population from the area. Previously, Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz said “Gaza is on fire” in the face of the Israeli army attacks.
“Israel’s defense forces (FDI) are destroying the heavy -hand terrorist infrastructure and the FDI soldiers are bravely fighting to create the necessary conditions for the liberation of hostages and the defeat of Hamas,” Katz said.
