Elderly sue Bad Bunny in 1 million for use of 'la casita'

Román’s house, an 84-year-old elderly man, began to receive daily “a large number of people”, Bad Bunny fans who will “take pictures and record videos” after the property appeared in a video and was replicated at the Porto-Rican concerts. The man accuses the artist and three companies of “illicit enrichment”.

An 84-year-old man is suing Bad Bunny in at least one million dollars (about 846,000 euros) the man alleges moral and psychological damage, as his home, which served as inspiration for the artist’s concerts, became a kind of tourist attraction.

Román Carrasco Delgado’s house in Humanio, Puerto Rico, was used by Bad Bunny in the short film of the album ‘Debí take bad photos’, which quickly became a worldwide hit. Then a royal replica of the property was set up to 30 Port-Rican concerts over the past few months.

‘La Casita’ became famous and the owner started to receive, every day, “a large number of people”, who go to the place “take pictures and record videos”, depriving Román from their privacy.

The house “has been the target of dozens or hundreds of posts on social networks and sales of products that highlight your property, which you usually receive no benefit”, reads in the judicial process to which you had access.

The process accuses Bad Bunny and three companies (Rhymes Entertainment LLC, Move Concerts PR and A1 Productions LCC) of “illicit enrichment”.

Román accepted agreement, but “can’t read”

Román Carrasco Delgado authorized the use of the house in the video of ‘Debí to take bad photos, admits the process. However, the 84 -year -old widower, who “can’t read or write, but can sign,” had “detailed knowledge of the way and the way the house would be used.” Bad Bunny team members will have asked the man to sign in a white mobile phone screen.

“These employees digitally transferred fraudulently, the signature mentioned to two different contracts. Initially, these contracts were not delivered to Don Román, nor were their content explained or read to him. The author could not read them because he did not have that capacity.”

The process accuses the artist and the companies, “without permission” of Román, built “an exact copy [da casa] Inside the José Miguel Addlot Coliseum of Puerto Rico, to be used in the Bad Bunny concert series. ”

Román Carrasco Delgado’s famous house carries a long story. Speaking to the Associated Press, the man says that he conceived the house with the help of his father and brother – the two are carpenters – after his wife said he wanted to return to human.

“I saw her in my mind. And my brother began to scribble, recalls Román, who took four to five years to get the house out of the paper.
