FS raises R$500 million to build a corn ethanol factory in MT

The second largest corn ethanol producer in Brazil, FS, will build a new industrial unit in Campo Novo do Parecis (MT). The project received approval for financing of R$500 million from BNDES (National Bank for Economic and Social Development).

The total investment planned for the project is R$2.07 billion. The resources approved by BNDES represent 24.2% of this amount.

The new plant will have the capacity to process up to 1.2 million tons of corn per year and produce up to 540 million liters of ethanol annually. The unit should also generate around 390 thousand tons per used in the manufacture of animal feed.

With the new unit, with four industrial plants in Mato Grosso. Currently, the company operates units in Lucas do Rio Verde, Sorriso and Primavera do Leste.

The company also expects a second stage of expansion. At this stage, 2.4 million tons of corn per year will be produced, while annual ethanol production could reach 1.08 billion liters.
