Budapest – The Hungarian Parliament modified the Basic Law on Monday with the two-thirds majority of Prime Minister Péter Magyar’s Tisza party. This limits the term of office of the head of government to a maximum of two terms, i.e. eight years. Magyar announced this reform as one of the first steps after his election victory on April 12th. Former Prime Minister Viktor Orbán ruled Hungary for a total of 20 years.
