On the sun, simultaneously with the maximum phase of the solar eclipse, there was a double emission of giant protuberances.
According to Oxu.AZ, about this, the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy of the Institute of Space Research (IKI) and the Institute of Solar-Terestra (ISZF) of the Russian Academy of Science (RAN) informed.
“The synchronized emission of two gigantic protuberances was recorded yesterday by several space vessels that monitor the sun,” the statement said.
According to information, it all started at about 11:30 pm, Baku time, Sunday, September 21, simultaneously with the maximum phase of the solar eclipse.
Scientists said that the dimensions of each protuberance were about one million kilometers, which is 70 times larger than the size of the earth. Both plasma fibers passed the orbits of the planets.
The laboratory has noticed that such an event confirms the preservation of large energy reserves by the Sun, even despite the general decrease of its activity.
