The Argentine team advanced to the semifinals with a 1-1 draw in Rio, enough after winning 1-0 a week earlier in Buenos Aires.
“I presented my resignation,” said Renato, 63, at a news conference after the game.
“From now on it will be another here” and “I want to see if it will put the team that the fan wants or the team that has in his head,” he added with disgust, ensuring that he always tried to “do his best for the club”.
