Flamengo secured a place in the Libertadores of America semifinals after beating Estudiantes on penalties 4-2, after losing 1-0 in normal time at Jorge Luis Hirsch stadium on Thursday (26).

The only goal of normal time was scored by Gastón Benedetti, 47 minutes into the first half, after aerial play started by Santiago Núñez.

In the final stage, Flamengo had greater possession of the ball (64%), but could not turn dominance into goals to avoid the penalty shootout.
