Another meeting in New York and in the context of the UN 80th General Assembly, with it, was postponed.
According to RAI and some other Italian media, the Turkish president was scheduled to meet the Italian prime minister last Tuesday, that is, the same day that he was agreed to make an appointment with Kyriakos Mitsotakis, however it was not possible. The same information from the neighboring country spoke of restrictions on the programs of the two leaders.
It was not clear, however, whether in this case the transfer was requested by the Italian or Turkish side. There has also been no information on whether the meeting efforts have been frozen.
According to government officials on the Greek side, it was Mr Erdogan’s associates who asked the Greek mission in New York to postpone the meeting with Kyriakos Mitsotalis, because the Turkish president was invited to attend a meeting of Donald Trump with leaders.
Since then, as the diplomatic circles themselves point out, despite the efforts that have been elapsed, no new time was found to serve both leaders, given that the Greek prime minister’s program was also particularly burdened.
